We held back the release one additional day to get smart caching into 1.1 beta 1 and it has proven to be well worth it! Page loads are now nearly instant and server load has dropped dramatically from it’s already low requirements. With smart caching, Liquid Media moves another step closer to being a top-tier CMS solution.

Tonight marks the launch of Liquid Media Version 1.1 beta 1. This beta has proven stable and as such we are releasing it to all current owners that wish to try it out. There are many more features that will make it into Version 1.1 final, but we wanted to let you get your hands on the latest and greatest now.

This version (beta 1.1) includes the following:

- Completely new bulk import. (Ability to create ads during import and set import parameters via ajax with auto location detection to speed up import. Auto detection of image or videos.)

- Completely new advertising system - supports 3 advertising types - Fluid ads, Static ads and Ad slots.

- Separate templates for index, featured, channel, group, gallery, image and video. Allowing for customizing each area separately.

- Ability to define both Image and Video thumbnail sizes independently.

- Ability to define the number of image and videos added from the queue. (Queue can be set to any number of minutes per iteration)

- Images now use the standard template and allow commenting.

- Ability to enable or disable commenting on groups, galleries and images. (Each separately)

- A number of bug fixes, and much more!
